At 9:00 a.m. on April 28, 2018, the Fujian Province “Thousand Enterprises Assist Thousand Villages” work conference was held in Fuzhou. Lei Chunmei, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department, and Vice Governor Li Dejin attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Xue Weimin, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference, also attended. Longhe Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and 57 other enterprises and chambers of commerce, acting as representatives, signed agreements on-site with 57 impoverished villages across the province. By implementing the “Thousand Enterprises Assist Thousand Villages” targeted poverty alleviation initiative, this effort has effectively promoted development in impoverished areas and laid a solid foundation for the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy.

At the meeting, Lei Chunmei, a member of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department, emphasized that launching the “Thousand Enterprises Assist Thousand Villages” targeted poverty‑alleviation initiative is a concrete step to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s strategic thinking on poverty alleviation and development, as well as the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. It is an important measure for advancing the rural revitalization strategy and a key platform for private entrepreneurs to fulfill their social responsibilities. She urged private entrepreneurs, building on the achievements already made in poverty eradication, to select villages with solid foundations and favorable conditions, fully tap their economic, ecological, social, and cultural potential, and establish eco‑friendly enterprises capable of helping impoverished villages achieve rapid poverty reduction, thereby promoting diversified rural economic development. At the conference, Vice Governor Li Dejin of Fujian Province stated that, moving forward, industrial development will be of paramount importance in targeted poverty alleviation—indeed, it is the fundamental solution. The focus will be on creating employment and boosting incomes through industrial growth.

On that day, at the signing ceremony for the “Thousand Enterprises Assist Thousand Villages” pairing‑up poverty‑alleviation initiative, Longhe Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and 57 other enterprises and chambers of commerce signed on the spot with 57 impoverished villages across the province. From 2018 to 2020, these assisting enterprises and chambers of commerce will flexibly employ various approaches—such as industry‑based poverty alleviation, trade‑driven poverty reduction, employment‑oriented assistance, charitable donations, and knowledge‑empowerment—to accelerate the process of helping impoverished villages shake off poverty and achieve prosperity.
